Made reservations online only to get here and was told there was no reservation. Their website keeps going down also.
Excellent food and atmosphere. A must for Yakitori while in Tokyo.
Such fantastic yakitori! They're is sometimes a line to get in, but it's worth it.
Tried a variety of their yakitori - portions are very generous and the quality of ingredients is good. That said, not the best I've ever had. Would have given them a higher rating except for one thing, they still allow smoking in their restaurant. So be warned, unless you like a side of cigarette smoke with your grilled chicken, this may not be the place for you.
Great food, great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Usually need to wait at least half an hour to get a table though. No reservations possible as far as i know
The treatment we got was really bad, perhaps because we were foreigners. When it was time to pay, we had to pay an additional fee for food we had not ordered. It did not feel good, not at all. The two stars are for the food, which was fine. Not the best yakitori I’ve had in Japan, though.
Fun place to go with a group with delicious food! Get there early to put your name in..
Great atmosphere, great service, great food, reasonable prices although you’ll probably spend more than you anticipated on the account that everything tastes so good and you’ll be enjoying yourself too much to leave. Get the chicken meat balls! Leave the duck alone though, was a little tough. Good sake and beer☺️
Excellent! Quaint atmosphere and kind service. The food was delicious, especially the duck, salmon roe and rice, and mushrooms.
The wait is worth your while! Great atmosphere, amazing food. Do yourself a favour and try the bacon wrapped mochi and the chicken meatballs!
This is a wonderful place for eating Japanese finger food, even though it is more than a little cramped due to its extreme popularity, given the quality and range of what they have on offer. The best part is watching the dexterity and the know-how of the multiple chefs as they prepare everything before your very eyes!
The wait was pretty long but the food was well with it. Also, the chicken meatballs are amazingly juicy. If you can, grab a seat by the sides of the counter and the grill master will serve you directly.
Not sure what’s the hype about. The taste is so-so, similar to other izakaya place I can found all over Japan. Very standard. Not sure why this is so popular.
Amazing ramen!!! HUGE chunks of pork. Delicious, thick, savory broth. It doesn't get any better than this.
Best yakitori place I’ve been in my life
Beware - as others have stated we too had things added to our bill that we did not order. As another person indicated, they put two bowls of edamame on our table right after we (wife and son) sat down. Having already read that this happened to someone else we did not eat it. The food is very good but we already knew we were going to have a problem so we did not enjoy the meal. When the bill came, sure enough they charged us for the two “appetizers” we did not order. After further reading on the internet this is not an uncommon practice in bars so best to just accept it. I just wish it was more clear like in Italy where it shows up on the bill.
Superb yakitori. Bills rack up very quickly! Nice izakaya experience for foreigners
The best yakitori place I've had the chance to visit. Make sure to get the bacon wrapped everything, and the minced chicken with shisho leaves. Top it off with a couple steins of beer.
Small restaurant. Crowded. Often full of cigarette smokes. Good food. Great price. Very local.
My favorite yakitori place in Tokyo, by far. Try the liver, ginnan shitake and kashiwa, and if they have it the Hokkaido potato.Tip: if you don't like shirasu, make sure to say something when first speaking to the staff.
My favorite yakitori restaurant in Tokyo! The skewers are so delicious and the price is reasonable. It’s always full so better to reserve before hand or go super early!
Second visit with 2years in between. As amazing as the first time. Very authentic and great craftmanship
Very friendly staff, good food however, my guidance would be to improve their reservation system as always had to wait for a long time.
We just happened to stumbled upon this place while on our way somewhere else and decided to eat here, so glad that we did! I read a few of the other reviews about extra items being added to the bill and I just wanted to clarify. In most Izakayas and many Yakatori places have “お通し“ (oh-to-shi), which translates to appetizer but is kind of like table charge or the nuts you get at a bar that you have to pay for. It’s not that they are trying to shady it’s just the system. At this place, it’s ¥350 for the peas which are actually tasty. The portions were really generous, and the food came quickly. I highly recommend this place!
If the cup full of spent yakitori skewers was any indication...this place was fantastic
Some of the best yakitori I've ever had. Highly recommend.I've read some people commenting about the restaurant slipping in an additional charge and not being honest. There is a table charge at this restaurant which is fairly common for Japanese restaurants. They will often serve you a small house made appetizer and charge a small fee for it. There is nothing dishonest going on here.Very friendly service and delicious.
One of the best yakitori places I've been to. The chicken neck and breast were great, as were the mushrooms and other veggies.
Tough to get a table but the food is worth it
Great yakitori but there are chances of sitting next to smokers. Don't listen to Michelle, there ain't no tabling charges in this restaurant and they WILL charge you for the edamame that you did not order. You don't see them serving any to locals and it doesn't make sense why they'd give you 1 order per person. They're ¥350 each. Very dishonest for Japanese standards. Reject them or ask them to take it off for bill because you didn't order them.
Pub-style Yakitori made with plenty of char over hot, hot flame. Not subtle but tasty and served fresh off the grill. Cheap sake and beer. Get there early and add your name to the waiting list, but don't be afraid to be assertive while waiting sometimes they call Japanese customers before foreigners.
After eating here, the taste that is leftover in my mouth...I want to make out with myself 😍
Oh yes. This is the place to go if you want an awesome izakaya with really great food. If you're in the area you just have to check this place out.
Very delicious yakitori and skewers ! Whenever I want to have skewers I come to this restaurant! Price is so reasonable! Good choices of food and alcohols , not only the chicken skewers but all other seafood and meat one are very good too ! Very good atmosphere though tables are a bit too close to each other . Better go before 730 pm at night or need longer waiting time to get a table .
Great dining experience! One of the best yakitori restaurants in the area, suggest from dear friends in Nakameguro. Cozy and low key profile. Plenty of choice, all comes in small plates so you can have a better taste of several meals. Bills came surprisingly cheap for the amount of all food we ate. Kind and professional staff. Very much recommended for lovers of this type of cuisine.
Amazing food, reasonable pricing. Staff are friendly and English menus are available. Sit at the counter if possible. Starting from Approx 2usd per stick. Will return again!
Great prices and great quality
Cool location and super tasty Yakitori. Very popular among the Nakameguro crowds so a reservation is highly recommended
Very good local vibe. I only gave it 4 because it's not as good as joumon in roppongi. If I hadn't been there before I'm sure I'd give this place a 5.
Hands down the best yakitori so far. Don't miss it.
Love the place, make sure to try the chicken meat balls, leek and leg as well as the mushrooms wrapped in bacon!
Food was delicious. The place is very tightly packed and we had to wait to get a table.
The meatballs are the best I've ever had.
Delicious yakitori with a great sake selection. Get the cheesy peppers; it’s their specialty.
Terrible customer service. Was treated very poorly without apology. Never going to this place again.
Use caution when eating here. I read a couple of reviews which suggested that they add items to your bill. That also happened to us. They brought edamame which I assumed was complementary, but turned out to be as expensive as the beef skewers. So... Extra 750 yen just like that. Make sure you ask if they bring you anything you didn't ask for. I might have assume it was just a mistake unless they're showing a pattern of this kind of behavior. Otherwise, the food was good. They're grilled skewers... So pretty good for grilled meat on sticks. If you go... Just use caution.
Excellent yakitori outlet. Very convenience location near to rail station. Must try the meatball and chicken wing. Beef were a bit tough thought. Service was good, fast and attentive. Ambient was good too.
If im able to eat more! I would!!! It just so delicious!!! U just have to try it!! Beer please!!
Amazing yakitori! A must go!
Delicious yakitori. Try the green peppers, chicken livers and bacon wrapped sticks
Lovely ambience, food and people!
